What's with these people....
It really bothers me to see how Insurance companies control our lives here in the United States. They govern every step, from what medicines to take , what help we get when in a disaster. Its pathetic when I see an insurance rejection just because the drug costs too much for them to pay or it is not in their so-called formulary. It feels like we are all puppets inthe hands of the insurance companies. It pinchs my heart when a patient comes in for his medicine and finds that his insurance didn't pay for it. Their expressions , their heart broken words like "I pay so much money for my premium , why don't they pay me back for my med" literally makes me feel so helpless and lost. Well, Im not supposed to feel that way, coz there is nothing I could do except telling them to talk to their Insurance and if they can fix it, we'll be happy to reimburse them. Its not just the patients who are governed , even the doctors - the care providers are completely monitered. Again, its the question of the insurance's inventory - if the drug is not in that list , the doc has to fill out some paper work and do some convincing business as to why he wants the patient to have that particular drug and not somethign else that is similar. This whole process now takes a couple of days and the patient, meanwhile, is left wondering what happened to his med.
Well , I guess all I can , or anyone can do is to stand and watch the show. There is nothing I can do , nothing I can say....Why!?
